Sunnbrella: Wrong

London shoegaze pop act, Sunnbrella, are fresh from an appearance at Prague's Metronome Festival having shared the main stage with Beck and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The band release new single, Wrong, with a London headline event at Paper Dress Vintage, Hackney to follow on July 29th, 2022.

Songwriter and vocalist David Zbirka comments on the new track: “It’s one of those songs that sort of wrote itself. I always enjoy those songs the best because they don’t bring back memories of the frustrating and seemingly never-ending process that a lot of other songs have to go through in order to be as good as they need to be. This one sort of fell into place naturally.

The new single is a inner monologue on negative behavioral patterns and overall personal turmoil. It was written while boarding a plane after nearly missing a flight from London to Prague, and it represents the confusion of transit and the pure exhilaration of flight and travel.

Zbirka continues: “For some reason my core memory of the time is that this song came together running through Stansted Airport to catch a flight to Prague that I was sure I was going to miss but luckily didn’t. The idea of rushing to make a flight that will take me back to a place that I previously left in a state of chaos seems to have informed the lyrics, which I started piecing together on said flight.”
