Kӕry Ann is the creative vehicle of Italian artist Erika Azzini who comes forth with a moody and genre mixing approach, bringing together aspects of dreampop, psychedelia, desert rock, folk and grunge, among other styles. Blue Eyes is the project's debut single, released though Berlin's Anomic Records.
Kӕry Ann notes: "The lyrics are literally pieces of dreams that I often recall and note down in the morning, or words that simply come to my mind during the day; sometimes they don’t appear to have anything in common, but amidst the chaos, I often realize that there is actually order in them, and that they perfectly fit together. The first verse describes the metaphorical image of a missed beloved one (“silent waves of diamonds in the air”), while the second verse is inspired by Baudelaire’s poem Cloudy Sky."
Delicate instrumentals and a nearly mesmeric and imaginative approach to production create a surreal ambience, while the artist's alluring vocal becomes a clear highlight of Kӕry Ann's artistry.
