Prolific electronica/experimental artist Robot Koch comes forth with a new EP release, Alchemy, in collaboration with fellow Los Angeles-based producer, Snakes of Russia. It is a three-track release, and a work of cinematic, dark, and immersive pieces with detailed sound design, defined and heavy low-end, and an otherworldly feel to them.
The release's title track possesses a gloomy and epic atmosphere, with hints of classical undertones, in contrast to the heavier and fuller electronic production of the tracks Low Tide and Shadow Side which follow.
As a whole, Alchemy finds the two artists experimenting with synthwave and industrial elements, bringing to mind the dark dystopia of Blade Runner and modern science fiction, in an overall imagistic, moody, and mesmeric outcome.
