Latenite Automatic is a duo from Vienna, Austria and Vancouver, Canada, notably influenced by the heavier and darker side of synthpop, darkwave, industrial rock and post punk. Their vibrant new single, Statues, is the first example off the band's upcoming album, Wahrheiten - German for 'truths.'
A real standout which recalls the more electro-rock offerings of David Bowie, the grittier and more rock-bent sounds of Depeche Mode and the flexibility of Killing Joke, Statues is memorable as much as it is an absorbing listen in terms of musical breadth and depth.
The song follows Latenite Automatic's 2020 EP Deity, while the impending album will be the band's first fill length in six years.
