Kate Clover: These Boots Are Made For Walkin' (f/ Warren Thomas)

LA-based garage/punk rocker Kate Clover has released a new version of the Nancy Sinatra classic, These Boots Are Made for Walkin', overstepping on the gritty and haunting qualities of the song's composition, originally penned by Lee Hazlewood.

Kate comments on her take on the song: "The cover was produced by Gregg Foreman (Cat Power, Delta 72, The Gossip) and Brandon Welchez (Crocodiles). [It] was heavily influenced by Suicide, Primal Scream and the Gun Club. I wanted to create a song that sounded as if Suicide produced a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood song but make it my own. The song is a duet with Warren Thomas, lead singer and founder of The Abigails who specialize in their own unique brand of Outlaw Country."

The new rendition is accompanied with a slick and amusing video set in a bar inhabited by misfits and eccentric characters, which appears to be an appropriate backdrop for the song.

Kate Clover's debut album will be released in Spring 2022.
