Day & Dream's Abby Amaya wrote Separation Anxiety about her beloved goldendoodle Zeppi who is also featured on the cover, elaborating on the co-dependent relationship between the two of them. The song is part of the duo's coming album, The Art of Remembering, expected out in October 2021 through the indie Filipino record label Lilystars Records.
Along the lines of contemporaries like Men I Trust, the new song sees the Asheville duo taking a woozier, more soulful approach to their airy dreampop, going through paths of wistfulness and solemnity to gradually uplift its spirit, and in a natural manner generate a very mellow and dainty piece.
