Popped Off is the debut single by fresh post punk act, Defem. The quartet composed of Liz Liles (ex-G. Green - vocals, bass), Sarah Scherer (ex-Screature - organ, synths), Chris Orr (ex-Screature - guitars) and Zac Brown (TYCHO - drums) recorded their impending full length record during quarantine in Stinson Beach, CA.
With a strong female voice and a nervy sound which matches up components from post punk and garage rock, the band's first single is no less than a straightforward punch which definitely raises expectations for their immediate future.
Popped Off arrives paired to a simple, nicely choreographed and executed video directed by the band alongside Matt Maxwell.
