New shoegaze band, Lilac Blister, emerge straight from the underground music scene in the San Gabriel Valley, California, with Astray, their quite energizing and impressive debut single.
The trio's first offering is firmly grounded in textbook shoegaze, while it also comes close to punk, math and noise rock, carrying a considerable amount of grit which is deftly counterbalanced by a nice, graspable production. Essentially, the track's well executed loudness and the band's overall easy to spot dedication are the loadstones which provide more than mere interest in what Lilac Blister have to offer.
