A Place To Bury Strangers: End of The Night

They haven't been dubbed 'the loudest band in New York City' for no reason, and they are evidently still one of the finest in shoegaze currently. Led by founding member Oliver Ackermann, A Place To Bury Strangers, return with a strong new lineup for a new EP which will be arriving on Ackermann's new label, Dedstrange.

The upcoming EP, Hologram, will be out on July 16th, 2021, and finds APTBS composed of Oliver Ackermann and the members of Ceremony (East Coast), John Fedowitz (bass) and Sandra Fedowitz (drums). Oliver and John were once together in the great Skywave.

In true APTBS fashion, the noisy and buzzing shoegaze psychedelia of first single, End Of The Night, doesn't disappoint.

"End Of The Night is the first written in collaboration with either of the new band members," Oliver lets us in on the band's new material. "John sent me the drum track and challenged me to write a song over it. It sort of came about as a strange stream of consciousness and unknowingly became about the end of the former band and the beginning of the new one. Each layer of the song stripping away the dead skin from the old and regrowing layer and layer of distortion of the new band. It’s great to be working again with John Fedowitz. I feel like our songwriting styles shot off in different directions from our earlier band Skywave only to come back to the table with different experiences to create something special again."

A little before the screening of the Dedstrange SXSW Showcase which APTBS will host (Friday 23rd April 12 AM BST / 7 PM ET), tickets for their announced 2022 tour will be going on sale
