Coming from Sydney, Australia and Berlin, Germany, Fabels have been around for more than a few years, constantly growing their dreampop sound, and shifting through the genre's psychedelic, shoegaze and electronica facets, with two albums and a bunch EP and single releases under their belt.
The band composed of Hiske Weijers (bass, vocals, keys, loops) and Ben Aylward (guitar, vocals, drum machine) is gearing up for a new album expected in 2021, while their latest offering is a mesmerizing and dreamlike piece which parades the duo's expertise at coming up with utterly engaging atmospherics.
Piccolo grips with its bilingual, almost abstract poetry, its ethereal instrumentals and the solemn vocal delivery, and it comes paired to a studio session clip whose plain and dim aesthetics equal the song's all encompassing ethereality.
