Chicago-based darkwave duo,
NONE OF YOUR CONCERN, are fixing toward the release of their debut
album, PRIMER, and the latest piece revealed off it is the driving and
pulsating dark piece, CINNAMON, which raises the bar quite highly for
what is about to follow.
The upcoming act has
recently come through with excellent remixes on tracks by Daymaker
and Secret Shame, and keep steadily turning heads their way with their
enigmatic presence and well designed electronic sound which flirts
with the genre's gloomier aspects, and styles like coldwave, EBM and
new wave.
Both remaining deliberately
anonymous, one member of the mysterious duo identifies as a social
justice promoter through art who's also a classically trained
musician, performing arts teacher and former dancer, while the other
is a local LGBTQ+ punk band frontperson with a lot of experience in
the local underground music scene.
CINNAMON is NONE OF YOUR CONCERN's most appealing and best realized piece of work to date,
channeling the darkwave's first rate acts with integrity and
sincerity, while astutely produced and recorded by the band alongside
Doug Malone, Brian Fox, and Sam Baldwin.
