Purveyors of extreme heaviness since the early eighties, after many lineup changes and without any of their original members on board, Napalm Death, led by veteran member, Mark “Barney” Greenway, are back with their first new material in four years.
Logic Ravaged By Brute Force 7″ is composed of the dark crust punk cut that is the original title track, and a cover of Sonic Youth’s White Kross off the 1987 album, Sister.
“In keeping with Napalm Death custom, we had a vast swathe of new songs with many different flavours,” Greenway says of the new release. “So then naturally we moved into single territory and opted for Logic Ravaged By Brute Force. It's the coldness and desperation of the guitar chords and voice that swung it. And then, seeing as Sonic Youth mash chords like few others, this cover of White Kross just seemed to lift itself beyond the constraints of cover – or filler - song into a bit of a rumbling wall-of-sound epic.”
The band also announced a massive tour of European and North American dates.
