Rose Hotel: Write Home

Having enhanced her early lo-fi sound to something richer, more elaborate and fully realized, Jordan Reynolds, the songwriting force behind the Rose Hotel moniker, and her adroit band are ready with the release of their forthcoming debut album, I Will Only Come When It’s A Yes, which comes out May 31st, 2019.

New single, Write Home, follows 10 K from last March, and it emerges as an intricate, still, straightforward cut full of warm singer-songwriter folksiness combined with elegant dreampop and soft rock properties. The song's lyrics express the artist's sentiments and thoughts of moving forward, and having to leave people and places in order to do so, drawing from her own experiences since growing up she attended eleven different schools, and never became accustomed to one place for long.

"It’s a record about running from nostalgia, but also leaning into it. It’s about transitioning through life, learning from the different phases we endure," says Reynolds about the entire album's aim. "Rose Hotel will always be a shapeshifter. Sonically, I want to sound modern and relevant to what I’m listening to and loving now, while also nodding to and gleaning influence from the older music that resonates so deeply with me as a musician and a woman."
