In a perfect world Flipper would have been a household name, as the band not only never have released a bad album, but they are certainly one of the most influential acts in punk and noise rock. Naturally, they are appropriately celebrated among the underground where their distorted, slow-burning, noisy punk sound belongs and clicks. Forty years into their career, four studio LPs and five live ones later, Flipper are still alive and kicking.
The San Francisco band, formed in 1979, honor their 40th year with a celebratory tour including founding members; Steve DePace on drums and Ted Falconi on guitar, along with David Yow (Scratch Acid, Jesus Lizard) on vocals and Mike Watt (The Minutemen, Firehose).
This is noise rock royalty, and shouldn't be missed. More European dates are expected to be added.
