Josephine Wiggs: Time Does Not Bring Relief

Josephine Wiggs, best known as bassist for alternative rock icons, The Breeders, has announced a new solo record, and shared a very intriguing first peek. Time Does Not Bring Relief finds the artists taking a very different direction than that of her successful band, and showcases her inclinations toward a more ambient, almost cinematic approach.

Incredibly artful, minimal and spacious, the song's meditative character offers a good look into the upcoming album. We Fall draws from the minimalism and experimentalism of the ambient works of Brian Eno and Harold Budd, while the masterfully implemented electronic components nod to the superiority of Ryuichi Sakamoto, all comprising a very engaging total.

The video composed of beautiful, over-saturated shots of landscapes and abstract imagery was created by Josephine Wiggs herself.

We Fall was writeen and recorded by Wiggs, with drums and electronics credited to Jon Mattock (Spacemen3, Spiritualized). The album releases May 17th, 2019 on The Sound of Sinners.
