Other than the intriguing band name and the enigmatic presence strengthened by the use of the animal masks, L.A.'s The Cabin Fever seem capable of making their presence felt through the nineties-inspired, competent and forceful style of indie rock that they offer. The band recorded their new EP, Exercise The Demon, live in their own Fever Dream studio by long-time friend, Iceland-born Husky Hoskulds (Screaming Trees, Tom Waits). Off it comes the single Simon Says, accompanied by an incredible, kind of old school indie video.
It is a strong combination of shoegaze, dreampop and indie lo-fi, and it carries its fair amount of melancholy and broodiness.
