Corniglia: Strange Desires

Together with the release of their self-titled debut album, psychedelic/dreampop duo, Corniglia, have shared their beautiful latest single, Strange Desires. Like their previous single, the song nods to some of the genre's veteran acts such as Cocteau Twins and Slowdive, while it can also bring to mind notable contemporary bands like Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing.

Consisting of Chloe and Matt, Corniglia come from Perth, Australia. In addition to the music, the two artists are fully engaging with their project, also creating all of the art and videos related to Corniglia. Their DIY creativity and the music's melancholic nature through the combination of dreampop and psychedelic pop can be nothing short of attractive, and also full of promise for the duo's future.

Matt states about the new single, "It's a song written in two parts. Most of the lyrics were written about 4 or 5 years ago. Looking back, it was mostly about a general sense of feeling lonely or not fitting in. It was revisited and finished off recently, where I view it differently now. Most people probably feel like they don't fit in at some point. Everyone is a lot more similar, working through the same problems and insecurities. I feel the song is more about growing up now."
