Lolahiko: Funeral / Murderer

The darkest piece of contemporary pop music you could listen to at the moment goes by the weird name Lolahiko, a duo comprised of  Lauren Marie and Ike Kawaguchi, based in Los Angeles and set to self-release their debut EP, The Year We Died But Stayed Alive on November 11th.

So far there are two tracks off the EP available to stream, the ethereal Funeral and the morbidly disquieting Murderer, both sounding great while revealing the duo's obvious great potential.

If you're sick of the subject matter and the imagery that are usually found in today's "popular" pop music and culture, Lolahiko's rise into view might do the trick and restore your lost faith in it, by adding their own sense of darkness to their strong, solid sound.
