Scott Walker: The Childhood Of A Leader

Scott Walker is one of the most inspiring artists alive today. For more than three decades now he has chosen an unconventional path for his long career and instead of cashing in on the pop style he became known for in 1960s, he thought he should become an avant-garde artist instead. That road led him to deliver a series of excellent albums, including collaborations with artists such as Sunn O))), Bat For Lashes, Ute Lemper, Pulp, Nick Cave and the soundtrack to the 1999 film, Pola X, which he wrote and produced.

2016 finds Scott Walker's work for another film. The Childhood Of A Leader is actor's Brady Corbet's debut film as a director and it is based on a short story by Jean-Paul Sartre. The Scott Walker film score was performed live with a 74-piece orchestra at Rotterdam Film Festival last February.

So far there's only this 46-second track available, a brief string arrangement that sounds exactly like a Scott Walker composition.
