Fresh New York-based post punk band, Pageant Girls, have just released their debut full-length, 1st Runner Up, presented together with the unveiling of a nice, highly stylized black and white video for the album's title track.
The band's sound is mostly configured on the more forthcoming and easier to take in aspect of post punk and new wave, with graspable song structures and on point production. In an effortless way, the quartet seems to be digging into the past of alternative rock, ranging from the mid-seventies to the late nineties.
Pageant Girls are composed of Ivy Jaff (vocals), Megan X Thomas (bass), Alex Rochinski (drums), and Venture Bros. creator Doc Hammer (guitar).
