Stream And Destroy 09.10.21 // Weekly Roundup

Stream And Destroy is a weekly feature on D//E in which we round up tracks and releases we didn't cover canonically during the current week. It's complementary to our regular posts and publishes on Friday release day. Oddments from previous weeks may appear.

As Summer collapses into Fall (HT: Oscar Wilde), interesting new releases will be coming. Here's another edition of Stream And Destroy.

Emma Acs & Jacob Formann (Communions, Mini Esco/Posh Isolation) from new project Evil House Party, and emerge with a strong first single and a rather deviant take on EDM and synthpop.

With their album freshly out, Deathsomnia have shared an impressive visualizer for the track Void Oblivion. Vocalist Kadri Sammel has recently written an amazing track by track breakdown of the entire album You Will Never Find Peace, exclusively for D//E.

Leaving None But Small Birds, the first collaborative album by The Body and BIG|BRAVE sees both bands seemingly out of their individual comfort zones, yet, all examples off it thus far suggest a work done by musicians with deep understanding of tradition, and a natural proclivity for folk, country and blues songwriting. Blackest Crow is the latest single off the upcoming album.

Twin Dream will be the third full length by Austin, TX band GLASSING, out on November 5th, 2021 through Brutal Panda Records, recorded with Andrew Hernandez (This Will Destroy You, Balmorhea, The Sword, Mammoth Grinder). The seven-minute intensity of new single, Burden, finds the band gnashing its teeth, and coming up with something intricate and exciting.

Beak> released Oh Know, the single they recorded on the only day they were physically able to get together during the winter lockdown, and they paired it with the previously unheard, Ah Yeh, which finds the band in full on krautrock/CAN-loving mode.

As its title suggests KID A MNESIA will be a double reissue of Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac, and it will include the new Kid Amnesiae, an entire disc of unreleased material off which comes the previously unveiled track If You Say the Word.

I Hate Everything is a mellow and wistful new single by Michigan band Greet Death, their first new music since their 2019 album, New Hell, out once again through Deathwish Inc.

Hertz is another ripping single by the fresh album by Amyl & The Sniffers. Comfort to Me is out through ATO Records & Rough Trade.

Portrayal of Guilt have a new album, their second of 2021 ready to come out. The elegantly titled CHRISTFUCKER will be released on November 5th, 2021 on Run for Cover Records, and lead single, Possession, is an immediate winner.

Fotocrime has just released the strong new album, Heart of Crime, and the singles/videos off it keep coming at a steady pace, and with great quality. Crystal Caves is the latest one, alongside a clip directed and edited by Jakub Moth/Chariot Of Black Moth.
