Mike Nichols was one of the very few people to ever EGOT, an acclaimed director, writer and comedian with a huge legacy left behind, who started his career in the 50s as a part of a comedy duo with Elaine May and ended it with his final film as a director, Charlie Wilson’s War in 2007.

Nichols died of a cardiac arrest, he was 83 years old.

Here’s a list of ten recommended films he directed in his rich career…

  1. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)

  2. Catch-22 (1970)

  3. Carnal Knowledge (1971)

  4. Wolf (1994)

  5. Angels in America (2003)

  6. Closer (2004)

  7. Regarding Henry (1991)

  8. The Birdcage (1996)

  9. Silkwood (1983)

  10. Primary Colors (1988)
…and a rare video of a skit with Elaine May, that was included in their 1960 album, An Evening With Mike Nichols and Elaine May.
