Forgotten 80's Horror Movie Posters

I fondly remember my trips to the local Ritz video club in the eighties. I remember once crawling out of the kids section, and noticing the vast array of horror movies. And so it began, a lifetime obsession with the genre. Here’s a few of the best and most forgotten horror posters from the 80’s.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space

This had to be the most intriguing of all video tape covers to me. Most kids were afraid of clowns growing up, so can you imagine the sleepless nights this one caused.

Intended as a more grotesque cheap rip-off of Gremlins. Despite it’s obvious resemblance to the trends of Gremlins and Critters. The series spawned a large number of sequels in the 80s/90s and the poster struck fear into visiting the toilet.

No-one could ignore the hideousness that is Pumpkinhead. How could anyone forget the Stan Winston hell-bent, revenge hungry creation.

The film failed to really impact as much as it’s posters

The Blob

It was a remake of the Steve McQueen classic from the 50’s. With gore cranked up to the max with a screenplay by Fank Darabont. This was the original cinematic poster, which for some reason was pulled when the movie was converted to DVD.

Critters was my favorite movie growing up. You can’t beat a movie about a spaceship packed fully with flesh-hungry little furbies.

The Monster Squad

The classic kids horror buddy movie had everything going for it and the poster really captures that.
