Green Inferno release halted

It’s come as a massive surprise to us here that Eli Roth’s cannibal holocaust movie “The Green Inferno" has suddenly been pulled from the schedules in the US, where it was due for a wide release on September 5. The reasons are more internally to do with the distribution firm, rather than the movie’s grisly content.

We were excited last month when the 2nd trailer came out. But it seems we may have to wait a little longer.

The movie is the ultimate homage to Umberto Lenzi and Ruggero Deadato. Green Inferno is directed by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever/Hostel). The script is co-written by Guillermo Izzo, set around a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save the rainforest. However, once they arrive in this vast green landscape, they soon discover that they are not alone - and that no good deed goes unpunished.
