The War On Drugs: Lost In The Dream

'Lost in the Dream' is the third studio album by American indie rock band The War on Drugs, released through Secretly Canadian. Although the album has now been out just over a week and has already taken the UK album charts by storm, it’s still worth reminding people how good and significant rock album LITD. The War On Drugs primary songwriter and band member, Adam Granducie recorded and produced the album himself over two years, between 2011 and 2013, in Philadelphia, New York, North Carolina, and New Jersey. It’s certainly one of those albums that needs a week or so to digest and that’s why I prolonged the review. For me “Red Eyes”, is quite easily the stand-out track and the whole album has this infectious/addictive. The album “Under the Pressure” which is over 8 minutes long is an epic opener and sucks you into the album mood immediately. I’m not the biggest fan of this kind of alt rock but I think every now and again a good rock album of this quality tends to come along and strike you, when least expected.
